Manifold Bio is hiring a Scientist, Phage Display & Discovery to lead high-impact protein engineering projects. This role is ideal for a hands-on experimental scientist who thrives in library-based methodologies, high-throughput screening, and phage display technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to innovative projects in synthetic biology and protein design
  • Design and construct diverse DNA libraries for protein engineering
  • Develop and execute high-throughput screening assays
  • Lead phage display-based discovery workflows
  • Analyze results from massively parallel in vivo screens
  • Work cross-functionally with computational and experimental teams

Qualifications & Skills Required

  • Master’s or PhD in molecular biology, bioengineering, or related field
  • Strong experience in molecular biology techniques
  • Hands-on expertise in phage display approaches
  • Proven experience in library-based protein engineering
  • Ability to design and execute complex experiments end-to-end
  • Experience in biotech, pharma, or startup environments
  • Familiarity with yeast or ribosome display technologies
  • Experience with Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS)
  • Exposure to CRISPR screens, DMS, MPRA, or single-cell sequencing
  • Basic knowledge of Python or R for data analysis
  • Experience working with animal tissues or BBB transport technologies
  • Passion for solving biological problems through experimentation
