Lab Operator Job Opportunity At Inteliphage
Inteliphage, working to develop next-generation solutions against antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is hiring a Lab Operator to support its microbiology and process development laboratory in Gosselies, Belgium. The Lab Operator will play an important role in the smooth day-to-day functioning of the laboratory by preparing media and reagents, supporting routine microbiological testing, managing laboratory supplies, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring that laboratory workspaces are clean, organized and ready for use.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare culture media, buffers, reagents and laboratory solutions according to established procedures.
- Prepare and pour agar plates for routine microbiological activities.
- Prepare sterile consumables and laboratory materials.
- Apply appropriate aseptic techniques during laboratory activities.
- Prepare bacterial cultures and bacteriophage dilutions.
- Perform routine bacteriophage susceptibility assays, including spot tests and Gratia (plaque) assays.
- Record laboratory observations and report unexpected results.
- Support routine laboratory activities according to approved SOPs and instructions.
- Clean, sanitize and maintain laboratory equipment and workspaces.
- Perform laboratory waste disposal according to established procedures.
- Monitor laboratory inventory and maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Understanding of aseptic techniques and basic microbiology laboratory practices.
- Ability to prepare laboratory media and solutions by following written protocols
