Novo Nordisk is seeking a highly skilled scientist to join its Beijing research team and support the discovery of next-generation cardiometabolic therapies. The selected candidate will use expertise in phage display and related display technologies to engineer proteins and peptides, generate novel therapeutic compounds, and advance projects toward key research milestones.

This role combines scientific leadership, technical innovation, and cross-functional collaboration in a global research environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead protein and peptide engineering, production, and quality control activities
  • Design and generate protein/peptide compounds for therapeutic discovery
  • Apply phage display, mammalian cell display, and molecular design technologies
  • Support cardiometabolic disease research programs through milestone delivery
  • Supervise Research Associates and Technical Scientists
  • Coordinate projects within a global matrix organization
  • Drive innovation in peptide and protein chemistry platforms

Qualifications & Skills Required

  • PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related life science discipline
  • 6+ years of experience in display technologies Strong expertise in: Phage display, Mammalian cell display, Protein engineering, Protein expression, Peptide discovery
  • Quality control methods
  • Industry experience in therapeutic protein or peptide development
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills in global teams
  • AI-assisted molecule design experience
  • Automation platform experience
  • Small molecule chemistry knowledge
  • Strong scientific publication or innovation track record
