The Department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen, is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position focused on the discovery of small antimicrobial phage proteins. This program is part of the EU-funded END2AMR consortium (European novel drug research to address microbial Infections and drug resistance), addressing one of the most urgent global challenges — antimicrobial resistance — through next-generation phage-based therapeutics.

Research Focus

  • Bioinformatic discovery of antibacterial proteins and peptides from bacteriophage genomes
  • Experimental validation and mode-of-action studies
  • Engineering and optimization of antimicrobial candidates

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • PhD in molecular microbiology, biotechnology, bioinformatics, synthetic biology, or related fields
  • Strong experience in bioinformatics and microbiology
  • Interest in phage biology and antimicrobial research
