Postdoctoral Associate in Phage Defense & RNA Biology Research
The Nemudryi Lab is inviting applications for Postdoctoral Associates to work on innovative research projects in phage biology and RNA repair/editing mechanisms. Research Areas
1. Molecular Mechanisms of Phage Defense
This project focuses on understanding how bacteria defend against bacteriophage infections.
Key Responsibilities:
- Study viral trigger recognition using structural and biochemical approaches
- Investigate immune activation mechanisms
- Reconstitute immune complexes in vitro
- Identify novel defense systems using computational tools
Relevant Expertise:
Structural biology, microbiology, enzymology, protein biochemistry, computational biology
2. RNA Repair and Programmable RNA Editing
This project explores how cells repair RNA damage and how these pathways can be used for RNA editing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Characterize RNA repair enzymes and ligases
- Perform transcriptome-wide RNA analysis
- Develop CRISPR-based RNA-targeting tools

Qualifications & Skills Required
- Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Genetics, Structural Biology, or related field
