The Rosalind Franklin Institute (the Franklin), a pioneering UK research institute dedicated to developing transformative technologies for healthcare, is seeking a talented and motivated Research Assistant to join its Nanobody Discovery team.
The Franklin is a UK Government-funded technology institute focused on creating breakthrough tools that enable scientists to image, interpret, and intervene in biological systems. By combining expertise across life sciences, physical sciences, and engineering, the institute aims to accelerate drug discovery, improve diagnostics, and deepen our understanding of human health and disease.
Key Responsibilities
- Screen nanobody expression libraries using phage display technologies
- Isolate and identify specific antigen-binding nanobodies
- Express and purify selected nanobody candidates
- Characterize antigen-binding activity and protein performance
- Manage biological samples and maintain accurate experimental records
- Enter and curate data within the nanobody database
- Analyze, interpret, and present research findings at internal meetings
- Ensure laboratory work complies with health and safety regulations
- Participate in outreach and public engagement activities supporting the institute’s mission
Qualifications & Skills Required
Candidates with experience in antibody technologies, protein biochemistry, molecular biology, or related disciplines will be particularly well suited to this role.
