This position focuses on understanding how endosymbiotic bacteria like Wolbachia influence host biology and reproduction, with broader implications for microbiome science and disease control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement experimental protocols in microbiome and symbiosis research
  • Conduct research using Drosophila melanogaster models
  • Perform genetic editing and transgenic expression techniques
  • Carry out reproductive tissue dissections and fitness assays
  • Utilize fluorescent and electron microscopy for analysis
  • Maintain laboratory insect colonies and ensure proper lab operations
  • Manage hazardous materials and biological waste safely
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and support ongoing research projects

Qualifications & Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or related field Strong
