The Universit\u00e9 de Sherbrooke (Qu\u00e9bec, Canada) is offering an exciting full-time PhD opportunity focused on the development of phage- and antimicrobial peptide (AMP)-based sprayable biopesticide formulations. This interdisciplinary research project addresses urgent challenges in sustainable agriculture, plant disease control, and environmental protection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This research becomes relevant since plant bacterial diseases significantly reduce crop yields, threatening food security and agricultural economies worldwide. To avoid the harmful effects of conventional chemical pesticides, which often lead to environmental contamination, negative health impacts, and the emergence of resistant pathogens, this PhD project aims to develop innovative biopesticide formulations using: Phages and Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The focus is on overcoming key technical barriers, including stability, efficacy, and sprayability, to enable real-world agricultural deployment. The results will contribute to the development of safer, environmentally friendly alternatives to traditional pesticides and may be extended to biocontrol applications beyond agriculture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This role offers strong training in formulation science, biological engineering, and applied research, within an interdisciplinary and international environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
