This is a newly created, senior-level position that plays a pivotal role in identifying and characterizing novel disease biomarkers to support the development of next-generation diagnostic tests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The head of Biomarker discovery will focus on studying phage-biosensors and their interactions with disease biomarkers, with particular emphasis on non-invasive sample matrices such as saliva and urine. He\/She will also evaluate how these biomarkers complement serum-based diagnostics and existing clinical tests, helping to enable accurate early-stage disease screening across a wide range of indications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Responsibilities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Lead AQ BioTech\u2019s biomarker discovery strategy and execution in collaboration with the CSO<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Identify, characterize, and validate novel complementary biomarkers across multiple disease areas<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Study interactions between phage-biosensors and disease biomarkers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Design and perform complementary analytical measurements using LC\u2013MS and other established biophysical methods<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conduct in-depth data analysis with clinical and research partners<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Integrate non-invasive biomarker data with serum-based and existing diagnostic approaches<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contribute to the ongoing development and refinement of AQ BioTech\u2019s biosensor platform<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain high-quality documentation and author scientific publications and technical reports<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Qualification Required<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Life Sciences, Chemistry, or a related discipline<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hands-on experience with LC\u2013MS and established biophysical or analytical methods<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Demonstrated research experience in biomarkers, particularly proteins and peptides<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Required Expertise<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Strong understanding of medical biomarkers, including predictive, prognostic, and pharmacodynamic biomarkers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience with treatment response monitoring and drug\u2013receptor interactions<br>Familiarity with chemical databases, analytical software, and molecular modeling tools<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to design, interpret, and communicate complex biomarker datasets<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A proactive, independent scientist with strong problem-solving skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An interdisciplinary mindset and curiosity to further develop and challenge existing methods<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Apply<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please send a free-form application, CV, and salary request by email to: <a><strong>jukka.holappa@aqbiotech.com<\/strong><\/a> with Subject line: <em>Head of Biomarker Discovery<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Check the other open positions at AQ BioTech <a href=\"https:\/\/aqbiotech.com\/open-positions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"here\">here<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>For more Phage-related global opportunities, click <a href=\"https:\/\/thephage.xyz\/jobs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"here\">here<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AQ Biotech is seeking a Head of Biomarker Discovery to lead our biomarker discovery program under the direct guidance of our Chief Science Officer.
