By uncovering these molecular mechanisms, the lab aims to contribute to the development of novel strategies to treat and prevent microbial infections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Available PhD Research Projects<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A) Microbiota\u2013Pathogen Interactions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This project investigates how bacteria within the human gut microbiome interact and how pathogenic species disrupt these interactions. Key research themes include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Interactions between microbial commensals and pathogens<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Quorum sensing and interspecies communication<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Biofilm formation and virulence regulation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Model pathogens such as Vibrio cholerae<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">B) Phage\u2013Host Interactions<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This project focuses on understanding the dynamics of phage infection in <em>Vibrio cholerae<\/em>.
