Together with partner centres in Atlanta, Beijing, London, and Tokyo, the team plays a critical role in global influenza surveillance and vaccine development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Responsibilities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Processing research study samples including PBMC isolation Performing serological assays such as:<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hemagglutination inhibition assays, Microneutralization assays, ELISA<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Virus propagation and cell culture <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Next-generation sequencing using Oxford Nanopore <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reverse genetics and site-directed mutagenesis <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recombinant protein and monoclonal antibody expression <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Flow cytometry and immune cell analysis <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Single-cell gene expression studies <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Data analysis using Excel, GraphPad Prism, and RStudio <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintaining accurate laboratory records and databases<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Qualifications &amp; Skills Required<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Applicants should have: Bachelor\u2019s degree with Honours in Science or equivalent , Major in Immunology or related field<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At least 5 years of relevant laboratory experience<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience with influenza or respiratory viruses preferred<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong experience in: Cell culture, Virus isolation, Plaque assays and TCID50, qRT-PCR, Cloning and transfection, Protein expression, Flow cytometry, PBMC handling, Biosafety procedures<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience with research data analysis<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>For more phage-related global opportunities, check <a href=\"https:\/\/thephage.xyz\/jobs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"here\">here<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This job post was originally curated by <a href=\"https:\/\/thephage.xyz\/jobs\">www.thephage.xyz\/jobs<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Royal Melbourne Hospital is hiring a Life Scientist to support advanced research on human immunity to respiratory viruses, including influenza and other viral infections.
