This exciting doctoral project focuses on the evolution of host\u2013microbe symbioses, exploring how horizontal gene transfer, bacteriophages, and mobile DNA shape ecological function in beneficial microbial communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This PhD project investigates how symbiotic bacteria acquire useful genes through horizontal gene transfer using mobile genetic elements such as bacteriophages, plasmids, and transferable DNA systems.
