This exciting opportunity is funded through a Wellcome Trust Discovery Award and offers the chance to contribute to groundbreaking research on the molecular mechanisms driving horizontal gene transfer (HGT) in bacteria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This project aims to characterize the complex molecular nanomachines involved in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bacterial conjugation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bacteriophage-mediated transduction<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Phage satellite biology<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Horizontal gene transfer mechanisms<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The research will leverage advanced cryo-EM approaches to study large macromolecular assemblies at near-atomic resolution.
