This full-time, two-year fixed-term opportunity offers the chance to work within a sophisticated research environment focused on the production, purification, and quality control of biologics, including proteins, plasmid DNA (pDNA), nucleic acids, and bacteriophage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Recombinant Products Facility operates state-of-the-art laboratory equipment and maintains an ISO 9001-accredited Quality Management System, supporting high-quality research and pre-clinical studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Responsibilities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a Research Laboratory Technician, you will:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Perform In-Process Control (IPC) and Quality Control (QC) analyses for biologics, plasmid DNA, and protein products.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conduct analytical testing to assess product quality and quantity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Coordinate analytical requirements across multiple research projects.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain analytical tracking systems and quality control documentation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Operate and maintain specialized laboratory equipment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assist with laboratory user training and technical support.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Work within an ISO 9001 Quality Management System and regulated laboratory environment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prepare scientific reports and interpret analytical results.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Collaborate with multidisciplinary research teams to support biologics production and quality assurance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Qualifications &amp; Skills Required<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Applicants should possess:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or a related scientific discipline, or equivalent professional experience.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Knowledge of molecular biology techniques such as:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Cloning<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Plasmid characterization<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gene expression analysis<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience performing analytical assays for protein and\/or plasmid DNA quality assessment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Familiarity with HPLC and other analytical laboratory techniques.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience maintaining and operating specialized laboratory equipment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001) and\/or Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Excellent laboratory documentation and record-keeping skills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong organizational and time management abilities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary research teams.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience with Protein purification, Plasmid DNA production, Microbial fermentation, Cell culture, Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF), Process chromatography, Biologics manufacturing, Scientific data analysis and reporting  will be considered advantageous<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Apply<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Interested candidates should submit the following through the official UNSW Jobs Portal:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Updated CV<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cover Letter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Responses addressing the required Skills and Experience criteria<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>For more phage-related research and job opportunities, check <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thephage.xyz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"here\">here<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The University of New South Wales (UNSW) is seeking a Research Laboratory Technician to join its Recombinant Products Facility (RPF) in Sydney.
