It provides a foundation for advanced study in areas including bacterial physiology, bacterial genetics, molecular pathogenesis, immunology and environmental microbiology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Responsibilities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The successful applicant will:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Deliver approximately half of the lectures during the Fall semester.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Teach lectures every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 2:00\u20133:00 p.m.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Help prepare and deliver the midterm and final examinations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Work with Teaching Assistants as required.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide weekly office hours for student support.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Respond to student questions and provide academic guidance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Update existing course materials where necessary.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participate in some online student interactions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Qualifications Required<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Applicants should have knowledge and experience in foundational microbiology, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bacterial cell structure<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bacterial biology and physiology<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bacteriophage biology<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bacterial pathogenesis<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Antimicrobial resistance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Previous teaching experience is desirable but not required.
