Interview with Dr. Ryan Cook: Exploring Viral Ecology and Human–Phage Interactions

The Phage, in collaboration with the Quadram Institute, had an amazing opportunity to sit down with Dr Ryan Cook, a postdoctoral researcher and viral ecologist. Dr. Cook shared fascinating insights into viral ecology, the gut virome, and emerging research investigating how bacteriophages may interact with human cells. He also discussed important dos and don'ts for conducting virome studies, highlighting approaches that can help improve standardisation across the field and enrich reference databases such as INPHARED.
