The Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Ghanbarpour Laboratory, Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biophysics.
This is an outstanding opportunity for scientists interested in AAA+ proteolytic machines, bacterial stress adaptation, mitochondrial biology, and phage defense systems, combining structural biology with biochemical and cellular approaches. The Ghanbarpour Lab investigates how bacteria and human mitochondria maintain homeostasis under stress.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent terminal degree, with a strong interest in structural biology, microbiology, or protein engineering
- Ability to develop a faculty-level research proposal
- With exposure to grant writing and manuscript preparation
- Trained in advanced structural biology and heterogeneity analysis tools
- Experience in cryo-EM/cryo-ET
- Expertise in biochemistry, genetic microbiology, or protein engineering
