Research Technician II – Structural Biology & Phage Biology Jobs
The Ghanbarpour Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated Research Technician II to join an interdisciplinary research team focused on understanding how bacteria and mitochondria maintain homeostasis, adapt to stress, and defend against environmental threats.
The laboratory investigates: Bacterial stress response mechanisms, ATP-dependent AAA proteolytic machines, Membrane protein quality control systems, Bacterial immunity against bacteriophage infection, Protein engineering and molecular tool development and Cryo-EM and cryo-ET structural biology.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with laboratory research studies, experiments, and assays
- Prepare reagents, buffers, tissue cultures, and experimental materials
- Perform data collection, analysis, and documentation
- Maintain laboratory equipment and research records
- Support laboratory organization, safety compliance, and maintenance
- Participate in interdisciplinary scientific projects
Qualifications & Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or related field
- Experience in laboratory research settings (0–1 year preferred)
- Background in: Biochemistry, Microbiology, Cell Biology, Protein Engineering, Molecular Biology
- Molecular Biology
